Command Center to Increase Detroit School Safety
A command center? For a fucking school system?
What other school system in this nation needs a massive central building with hundreds of cameras in every school so that the students will stop killing each other? Detroit is bankrupt, has no cash, has nothing but debt, and still they waste OUR tax payer dollars on these worthless wastes of flesh that need big brother to try and keep them safe. As if installing cameras is going to stop anything from happening, give me a single instance where putting a camera up has stopped crime. It doesn’t stop crime, it just makes it easier for them to catch the criminal after the fact and then we get to spend more tax dollars once they’re locked up to keep them fed and “safe” in prison.
Detroit has a 50% unemployment rate. You can be sure that everything that is built in Detroit is a result of white tax payers in the suburbs and around the country. They keep wasting our money on bullshit in Detroit while our kids are neglected in the suburbs and our schools close and remained unassisted by the state or federal government.
DETROIT (AP) – Security in Detroit’s public schools will get a boost this year when the district opens a new police headquarters that will serve as a high-tech hub for surveillance, district officials said Friday.
Several cameras and alarm systems will be placed in each school as part of the $5.6 million project, which is part of a nearly $42 million initiative to increase safety in Detroit schools.
The district has spent the past year trying to transform its public safety department from one resembling a security force “to one that supports modern-day law enforcement,” Inspector General John Bell said. Construction of the new center, which will replace a smaller facility, is expected to begin this month on the site where two schools were demolished.
