It seems like just because this person is able to tie a tie, he is eligible to run for public office. This would be a joke anywhere but Detroit. I would not be surprised in the least if he won a post. The people of Detroit have no one to blame but themselves. And yet when the city can’t afford its own budgets it is up to the rest of the state to support a city that seems destined to do whatever it can to fail.
I have read on here and elsewhere that the city of Detroit is so much better off now that it was when whites ran the city. I have to sit back and scratch my head. I see the destruction of the city as a main embarrassment to this state. As some of you may know I travel the country for work and I have saved some 150-200 of the best photos of the ruin of Detroit (Thanks detroiter). The people I work with are stunned that any of this is possible. When I go into the stats of the city, such as the racial makeup of the population they simply find it hard to fathom.
Its hard to explain to someone in a rural community with a makeup of 99% whites just how a black dominated community can fuck up a whole city to the point of pushing even the peaceful whites and blacks alike out. They just can’t fathom how a population can allow their own city to become a cesspool of filth and crime that Detroit has become.
This story here just reiterates how an ignorant populace can elect a convicted criminal to lead a community, and then wonder why no business or tourists have any desire to come to their town.
It’s simply disgusting.

I don’t think anyone here is trying to imply that white politicians are incorruptible. There is a difference between corruption and destruction though. In most cases where the majority of the council is white I will admit that there is corruption but not to the point of the whole city to fail. Siphoning off money for personal needs seems to be the status quo for politicians and that is a debate for another time. When it is done to the extent that it is happening in Detroit is another matter all together though. These guys are not simply hurting their budgets they are bankrupting them and in there lies the difference.

(CNN) — Four boys ages 9 to 14 have been charged with sexually assaulting an 8-year old girl, police in Phoenix, Arizona, said Wednesday.
The girl was lured into a vacant storage shed by the suspects, who offered her chewing gum, police said at a news conference.
The girl was restrained while the boys — ages 9, 10, 13 and 14 — sexually assaulted her, police said of the July 16 incident.
All the suspects except for the 14-year-old live in the same apartment complex, according to Phoenix police Sgt. Andy Hill. The 14-year-old has been charged as an adult, Hill said.
Detectives said the girl was placed in the custody of Phoenix child protective services after the attack because of her parents' attitude toward her.
The girl and the boys charged are all from families that have come to the United States from the West African nation of Liberia, police said.
