There was two critical patients both children. It was us first on the scene. The father was very racist saying get that nigger away from my daughter. I couldn’t help her because I was too busy trying to save his son’s life (neither were buckled inn). Well guess what. Very sadly the boy did not have a chance his spleen had ruptured and he died within minutes from internal bleeding. Nothing could be done. But the daughter had a chance. My partner saved her life by doing cpr and puncturing her lung to release the blood that had flooded it. He was able to revive her. She would have died. This father who was yelling get that nigger away from my child was now at the mercy of my black partner. He didn’t skip a beat. The father at the hospital was ever so grateful especially after the doctor told him the “black” paramedic literally saved her life. He looked at my partner and said what you did tonight changed me! To this day this man and his family come to the station every year to visit. Life is color blind truly and this just proves it. So keep that in mind! Karma has a funny way of coming through! It is a shame that anyone of any color has this much hate. It is people like you and yes there are also blacks who are racist too, that make my childrens future bleak! I pray for you!
