14-year-old to be charged as adult in shooting of 13-year-old
A 14-year-old is expected to be arraigned today as an adult on charges of first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 13-year-old on Detroit’s southwest side in February.
Jack Fennessey, a spokesman for Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, said the youth also would be charged as an adult at the 36th District Court with assault with intent to murder and commission of a felony with a firearm. The shooting occurred Feb. 11.
Detroit police had previously identified the victim as Christian Sanchez. He and a 19-year-old, who was shot and wounded, were in the 7000 block of St. John around 3 a.m. when five men approached them, according to police.
This is the best thing that’s ever happened to this niglet. He’ll get out of jail when he’s 21. He’ll get things like free rent, tuition, a job given to him, oh and don’t forget the pluck rabbit coat.
