DEARBORN — A retired teacher and painter was arraigned Monday on charges he killed his son-in-law and hid his body for more than five years. Mohammed Hussein El-Astal, 68, faces life in prison on first-degree murder, felony firearm and disinterment/mutilation charges in the murder, which occurred Aug. 4 or 5, 2001. Prosecutors and police declined to discuss the case and wouldn’t release the name of the victim whose body was found by Dearborn Police on Thursday at an undisclosed Detroit location.
